eBay Marketplace Facebook Application

This is An Application I Have Been Waiting to See

It did not take long for online auction king eBay to release a Facebook application. Just a few days after Buy.com launched their Facebook commerce application, eBay has launched the eBay Marketplace Application. This is just the sort of application I have been waiting to see. While Buy.com may have beat eBay to the punch, the Buy.com online marketplace does not have the same user base that eBay does. This means it will be a much more accurate gauge of whether or not Facebook is a viable commerce channel for marketers.

The eBay Facebook application offers a ton of functionality. You can post items your watching, items you have won, items you are selling, and you can even “push” items to your Facebook friends with the eBay application installed. You can also control how much or little of your eBay activity comes through to Facebook. Although you need to link your eBay accout to your Facebook account which does raise some potential security concerns, the application offers enough interactivity to make it useful for more than just “selling things”.
