Social Shopping applications seem to be creating quite a bit of buzz on Facebook. At Facebook Observer, we take a look at the 5 popular Shopping Applications on Facebook.
My Shopping is a new application for Facebook designed by Marc Mezzaca. My Shopping application was released via SecretPrices.com and it allows users online shopping with their Facebook friends. This means, just about anyone can search for their favorite movies, books, devices, cloths and rank/rate, mark them and share them with their buddies.
The registered Facebook users can add a sort of mini shopping portal on their Facebook profile. Currently, the application boasts of 28 daily users which isn’t bad considering that application’s line of thought is centered around Facebook’s Beacon project.

Earn Cash - Simply refer your friends to products and earn money while they shop.
Collaborative Recommendations - Collaborate with your friends on the basis of your needs for a product and your friend’s thinking about the same.
Bargains and Coupons - I think this one as the name suggests is about getting cheap products/ discounts while shopping.
Favorite Things is powered by Yahoo Shopping ! The functionality of the Facebook application is similar to Yahoo Shopping. It lets users shop for products from thousands of world-wide stores. Users can create wish lists by adding the "Favorite Things" profile to your friends list. They can also send virtual gifts from thousands of fun, silly, and thoughtful gift images to send to friends as a virtual present.
The Shop Bargains application has been developed by Mike Allen and Skyler Clark. It provides a snapshot of online coupon codes and shopping deals right across a user’s profile page. Users can select from over 33 shopping categories and receive updates on their favorite products. It is highly customizable to best fit user preferences via the Edit Profile link on the app’s main page.
The ebay Shopping application has been developed by Andrew Sukow. The application allows users to search for items on eBay instantly from Facebook itself.
Developed by Nadim Elgarhy, Hot Deals is supposed to be the largest largest bargain shopping application on Facebook. It monitors online stores and search flyers for the best prices, freebies, and coupons. The details are listed category wise and by their status. Users can filter by select deals from chosen categories or can display all deals.
There are many more apps worth trying out on Facebook. The only question is where would some of these applications go now that Facebook Beacon has been launched.
