For the benefit of developer community, Allen Stern from CenterNetworks has proposed an interesting petition to Facebook. Apparently, Allen is frustrated with the lack of space for all new Facebook apps. Co-founders of new startups and developers of Facebook apps seem to be in need of more space(Allen rightly calls it “real estate” in Facebook environment) on the Facebook page.
I think Allen makes a lot of sense here as currently Facebook is only set to a screen resolution of 800 which could be improved to 1000 pixels providing developers with an additional 200 pixels of working space. Like Allen says it would reduce development time for Facebook application creators and let them focus on everything else instead of figuring out how to adjust in limited space.
Allen has proposed a petition to Facebook for this. You can help Allen and Facebook developer community by adding it on your blog or contributing in the comments section.
“At a minimum, increase the site width to 1000 pixels and preferably, remove the left menu and let the app creators maximize their value which will increase the Facebook brand value as well.”
