Facebook On A Banning Frenzy?

banned from facebook
Over the last three days I have received an influx of emails from people who have been banned from Facebook. In addition to these emails, there seems to be an influx of people hitting a post I wrote about being banned from Facebook a few months ago.

Is this increase in activity indicative of Facebook “clamping down” on “SPAM like” behaviors due to the increase scrutiny they are facing over privacy concerns?

I am not banned but I am blocked from adding any more members.

Surprisingly other people can request me to add them as a friend but I can not do so. I am also getting suggestions from facebook to add friends that I can not do.

I am not sure what to do except to wait it out. I even wrote a blog post on it here that has more details.

Hi

My son was recently blocked (without any warning) with reason given that he should have joined a High School Network within 60 days of joining facebook. According to us, he has done so, since his school was already listed when he joined. Will all pupils who have facebook from that school now be disabled, or was he a random victim?

He did write an email to facebook - lets see how long (or whether) they react. At the least they could have a warning system built in so that people could understand what to do and have time to prevent disabling. Also please explain what it means to join a high school network other than finding your school already there and joining its network.

Thanks
