Via Webpro news - According to latest announcements made by the founder and head of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg at the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco the company plans to double its head count over the next year.
At present, Facebook has over 300 employees and according to Zuckerberg it is believed to go up to 700 employees according to InformationWeek. Facebook serves 47 million active users and is rated as a top notch social networks.
Zuckerberg stressed on efforts made by Facebook to enable third-party developers to build application-programming interfaces (APIs). He added that the site has pulled in 100,000 developers.
Currently Facebook can remove any application from its platform, which can leave developers in a state of disarray. According to Zuckerbert the policy works because the platform is quite new and the growth of Facebook is still unsure.
